World's best World War II museum. Usually takes a few days to get the full experience - you can always come back!
A gorgeous stretch of New Orleans with century-old live oaks dripping with Spanish moss, across St. Charles from the Tulane and Loyola campuses. Great bird watching in the park and the adjacent Audubon Zoo. And a golf course. Take the street car from the French Quarter for the scenic route down St. Charles.
Bigger than Central Park. Older than Central Park. Better than Central Park. More gorgeous oaks and Spanish Moss. The New Orleans Modern Art Museum, a botanical garden, and Cafe du Monde can all be found here. Also another golf course. Also where we got engaged.
Built in the mid-1700's, it's rumored the bar was used by pirate brothers Jean and Pierre Lafitte to hide smuggled booty. Victoria carries on their legacy with a healthy dose of their “purple drank.”
Classic NOLA fare right across the street from Hotel Monteleone. If you live in Dallas, Victoria swears Jack and Harry's was modeled after this restaurant.
Even if you aren't staying at Hotel Monteleone, be sure to stop in the bar in the lobby that is also a functioning carousel.
Structure originally intended to be Napoleon's residence in the New World before he died in exile. Now home to some incredible muffulettas and known for their Pimm's Cup and classic New Orleans courtyard.
Incredible rooftop bar.
Po' boy is what we call folks who don't get their po' boys here. Get the James Brown and a Paradise Park. Thank me later.
Great jazz brunch. Request a courtyard table.
First restaurant we went to after moving here - it was a cardiology lecture. Incredible fried chicken hummus.
