We actually met at Belmont University in 2013! And for years our lives had been running parallel to each other. We had the same friends, the same taste in music, etc. But we never really got to know each other. But that's when fate stepped in! Five years later- on October 26, 2018, chance had it that we ran into each other outside of a music venue. But not in Nashville, where we were both living - but in Bowling Green, KY of all places! Thomas had been playing a gig that night at Tidball's, an iconic venue there. And Veronica had been visiting a friend and bar hopping. And while Thomas was loading out his gear, Veronica happened to walk by at the same time! And that was that! Thomas messaged Veronica on Instagram the next day. And even though Veronica had plans to move to New York, she had a good feeling about him. We went out for the first time a month later!
We've been taking long walks through Jim Warren park even before we had our dog, Banjo. On these walks, we always talked about our future and our dreams. So walking in the park with Veronica became where Thomas felt most at peace. So he knew that was where he wanted to propose, and he wanted to do it on the anniversary of our running into each other in Bowling Green. Of course, Veronica knew about it! What she didn't know was that Thomas had secretly arranged for Veronica's childhood best friend, Anita (and Matron of Honor!), and her husband John, to be there. And they photographed the special moment! We got to celebrate that night at the bar where we had our first date, with some of our closest friends and plenty of champagne!
