Unfortunately we are forced to postpone our wedding ceremony & reception. We are still legally getting married March 28 with an intimate backyard ceremony, and once everything settles down we look forward to picking a new date to have the larger wedding we had planned.
We met through a weekly volleyball night at Bethany church in Sierra Madre. Thanks to our friend Aimee who started these volleyball nights at her church! We didn't really get to know each other, however, until several of the volleyball regulars started hanging out together outside of volleyball- thanks to our outgoing friend Koko for initiating those first few hangouts! We had some fun times and great conversations and by July of 2017, we were "officially" dating.
Along with their friends, Sammy and Veronica were able to travel to Europe this past fall, and Sammy made the most of the opportunity! While exploring Cinque Terre, a cluster of 5 charming, tiny towns on the Italian coast, Sammy asked Veronica away from the group for a special date night- it was a Tuesday, the night they usually had their weekly date night back home. While sipping aperol spritz (their newfound favorite Italian drink) and watching the sun set over the ocean, Sammy began talking about their relationship- all the adventures they had been able to share, and how the best part of all of them was doing them together. Veronica, entirely confident that Sammy hadn't bought a ring yet (and planning to go get her finger sized after the trip to be safe), was loving all the sweet things Sam was saying, but was not picking up at all that this was the lead up to a proposal... So she was completely surprised in the best way when Sammy got down on one knee, pulled a ring out of his pocket, and asked her to marry him. The ring fit perfectly, and saying yes was the easiest decision Veronica has ever made. ❤️
