Veronica and Ricky met in the Spring of 2016 at their crossfit gym, Dark Horse. They were friends for years before realizing that most relationships begin as friendships and grow into something more meaningful. Ricky proposed to Veronica at the Descanso Gardens in the Japanese Garden among the blooming cherry blossoms on April 6, 2019. He never really asked her for her hand in marriage, he got down on one knee among the blooming camellia trees surrounded by cherry blossom petals, gave her the ring and said "you're going to be my wife", and what girl in love head over heels with her best friend could ever object. The proposal was secretly caught on camera by a couple of spies (Yana and her husband, Marco) who were lurking in the crowd taking pictures. The couple is excited to have chosen a day to celebrate their love with all their friends and family on September 24, 2021.
