"So what's your story?" V said to Jovi on a warm spring evening in Sacramento. We were celebrating a mutual friend's birthday in Midtown. Little did we know this was going to be the start of separate paths joining together. Something special was in the air that Second Saturday, it could have been the energy that sparked when their eyes locked at Golden Bear. Or maybe Jovi was just impressed with the Palomas and Elote V kept ordering at the Cantina. Either way, Jovian's transparent heart fell for Veronica's inquisitive nature. They swapped numbers, (and as they say) the rest is their story.

We decided to have a birthday party over at Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg. Jovi invited all the friends and family he could think of for his 28th birthday. Unknown to Veronica this was going to be a very special day for both of them. The two woke up that morning, worked out at the gym and got their pedicures ( a pushy Jovian implored V to get her nails done). Everyone was there in person and in spirit-- families born into, families chosen. Wine tasting concluded, and Jovian goes into this speech about how wonderful this year has been, thanking everyone there. But just then, Jovi turns his attention to V, gets down on one knee surprising Veronica with a question, a ring and promise she would treasure a lifetime. When V said yes, there were cheers, hugs and happy tears all around! Looking back, we realize.... we REALLY like birthdays!
