Our story begins in January 2014. We met at university hospital where he worked at the time and I was there visiting my cousin because she just had her baby girl. I seen him twice that day and thats what sparked me to reach out to him because we were already friends on social media. So I messaged him on instagram something I never do lol. We started to converse and became close really fast. But the funny things is him and I went to the same middle and high school but NEVER crossed each other’s path. We lived in the same neighborhood and knew the same people saw each other. I was even close to his brother in high school but never knew he was a twin lol and one of derrick’s life long friends Marvin I actually grew up with but me and Derrick never met back then. But I came to believe that we weren’t meant to meet back then because the stars would align later for us to meet and fall in love. So ever since 4 years ago our life together has been sheer bliss. Fairytales are very real

Derrick always told me it’s not a matter of if we would get married but a matter of when. He’s always been good at the element of surprise with me. So we were expecting our first baby together and our baby shower was August 20th 2017. I never knew that day would be one of the most monumental moments in my life. Derrick chose that day to propose to me. In front of all our friends and family jus made the moment so much greater. And I never saw it comings day to top it off our friends and family were all in on it lol. After it was all said and done Derrick told me that he already knew 2yrs before that he wanted to marry me and I cried because right then I knew we would spend the rest of our lives together.
