Bob and I were destined to meet; we were often in the same place, but never at the same time -- I moved to DC a year after he moved away and then I started working at Google a year after he left. Our paths finally aligned on March 15, 2014 in the elevator of our apartment complex in San Francisco after taking a gym class together. We chatted for a few minutes and as we were walking back to our apartments, we realized that we were next door neighbors. I was fairly sweaty after leaving the gym, but I must have made an impression -- Bob remembers the exact day we met because he wrote a note to himself about meeting me! Fast forward to December 2014, I had recently moved out of the building, and I received a message from Bob saying that he had accidentally received my mail. He asked if he could return my mail in person -- over dinner and drinks! I decided to take him up on his offer, and we instantly hit it off on our first date, talking for hours and hours. He was handsome, funny, charming, and brilliant -- although somehow he "forgot" to bring my mail. It has been a joke that our love story is the modern day version of the romantic comedy, "You've Got Mail."

Bob and I share some of our fondest memories in the Wine Country of California, so it was only fitting that we got engaged there. To celebrate Valentine's Day, Bob took me on a romantic weekend getaway to the Calistoga region of Napa Valley. On February 11, 2017, we visited a small, secluded winery called Reverie, which means "dream." Bob and I sipped wine under a circle of giant redwood trees where he got down on one knee (shaking and looking incredibly sweet) and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. It was a "dream" proposal and one of my most treasured memories.
