This is my first gay wedding. Will there be witchcraft?

Not sure if you’re kidding, but we’ll roll with it. On the “gay wedding” front, I’m assuming that means I have to bring it, fashion-wise. What do I wear?!

Well, you are right. We want you to SHOW. UP. The Olana is a formal event space, so the dress code is black tie optional. While black tie attire isn’t required, you are welcome to wear either a tux or a suit. Those who choose to wear dresses should be in floor length gowns.

Can I wear a sports coat or a short cocktail dress?

No, sis. You can not.

Okay, bridezilla. Is there anything else I *shouldn’t* wear?

Answer

Sneakers, plastic flip flops, socked/bare feet, khaki pants, JEANS, cotton dresses, or anything that could be found at Old Navy? Guillotine. Sorry, it’s against our religion.

But what if my feet hurt later in the night!

Answer

That would be a big time bummer! But so is bare feet in public. You probably know your feet by now. If they are prone to discomfort in heels, you are welcome to bring a pair of dress flats or formal sandals to change into. A good rule of thumb: does the “comfy shoe” look like something you could have reasonably shown up in? If so, bring them! If not, they’re probably not appropriate.

Okay, enough about your feet. What about COVID, queen?

We are asking that our guests provide a negative COVID test, so we don't bear the guilt of the entire pandemic. Either an at-home test or the kind where someone in a hazmat suit pokes your brain with a q-tip will suffice. Send your negative results to veronicataylorwedding@gmail.com
