Against All Odds, They Found Love (and Chocolate)

Sixteen years ago, Veronica was juggling college and a job at Against All Odds, probably folding clothes with the enthusiasm of a caffeinated squirrel. Unbeknownst to her (and David), their family was hatching a plan: to set them up. Their first date was at Applebee's, a choice so romantic it practically screamed "forever." When Veronica met David, she was immediately drawn to his height and beard. David, in turn, was captivated by Veronica's radiant smile. Soon, they were inseparable, diving headfirst into a world of festivals, clubs where they attempted to dance (with varying degrees of success), concerts where they sang along off-key, and new culinary experiences that sometimes involved questionable food choices (like the time they ate chicken hearts and enjoyed it!). David, it turned out, had a secret weapon: a friend at Godiva. This connection led to surprise deliveries of pounds of chocolate-covered berries and fruits, truffles, and bars. Veronica would have to share with everyone in her family before they went bad. Four years later, their daughter Leiana arrived, becoming the center of their universe. The late nights of dancing were replaced with late-night feedings and folding tiny clothes, a change they embraced wholeheartedly, although they did miss the occasional opportunity to embarrass themselves on the dance floor. Leiana was a daddy's girl through and through, a fact Veronica occasionally used to her advantage when she needed someone to convince David to do something (specifically, going out to get ice cream). In 2016, they decided to tie the knot. During the wedding, Leiana stole the show. Instead of gracefully tossing flower petals, she was too busy proclaiming her own intentions to marry her daddy, a declaration that was both adorable and slightly concerning. Now, ten years and countless adventures later, they find themselves on their favorite island, celebrating love, life, and family, proving that even the most questionable first dates can lead to a lifetime of happiness, laughter, and an endless supply of chocolate (if you know the right people).
