We recommend exchanging dollars and other foreign currencies for pesos at authorized money exchange houses in banks, airports and hotels. You should never exchange currency on the street. For official daily dollar exchange rates, visit Portafolio (www.portafolio.co/indicadores/monedas). From our experience, the best way to get pesos is by withdrawing directly from an ATM at a local bank (such as Scotiabank, Bancolombia or Davivienda). Don't forget to setup a travel notice with your bank first. Credit cards are also accepted at many businesses.
