Our Story

At the beginning of 2017 is when the journey began. Sarah still lived at home with her parents, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She began to get the feeling she needed to move out to Odessa, Texas to spend more time with her brother and his family that lived out there. After only having been to Odessa a couple times prior, she made arrangements and started off on a new path. Nikko during this time was living in Fort Worth, Texas, working for a local roofing company on a storm that had hit that town. Sarah arrived in Odessa during May of 2017, she quickly found a job at the bar next door called "Bottoms Up Bar & Grill" and started the beginning of her bartending career. By July, a major hail storm hit Odessa bringing baseball sized hail. A storm that caused major damage to every building in town. It was this storm that catalyzed Nikko's move to town. Nikko got to work knocking doors locally, finding himself at Bottoms Up talking to the owners about the damage to the roof from the storm. While the owners did not need roof repair, they did need a promoter for the new "Club Crude" which was already scheduled to open in August of 2017. Nikko having multiple years of experience in that field, accepted the job offer. Nikko and Sarah met on the night of Club Crude's grand opening on August 19th, 2017. They spent the next month flirting casually on the weekends of Club Crude's hay day, drawing each others attention constantly, and curious about the unspoken magnetism between the two of them. Until one fated night in September, when Sarah got off work early and decided to go party at the club, and decided to act on all of the unspokeness between the two of them. Since then they have been inseparable and have been on many adventures through life together. After living together in Odessa for over a year, they ended up chasing Hurricane Irma to Naples, South Florida, in July of 2018. It was then they moved into their first rental together, chasing sunsets on the beach and trying to navigate the challenges of life together. Inevitably Florida wasn't the ideal place for a young couple just starting out to begin, so they had to reroute again after another year. They spent July of 2019-December of 2019 living apart in separate states. Nikko went to work a storm in Pennslyvania and Sarah moved back in with her parents who had relocated to Cumming, Georgia. It was during this time Sarah began working at the notorious Mule Camp Tavern in Gainseville, Georgia. After working hard and re-aligning themselves with what they truly wanted in life, they rejoined in December of 2019 and then signed a lease for an apartment in Gainseville by January of 2020. Thinking they had finally made it to the point of being able to work towards the future they had been dreaming of, the Covid Pandemic hit. Something that threw everyone off kilter. After a year of working at Mule Camp, the local legend ended up shutting down. Which led Nikko and Sarah to begin a new chapter with Hopscotch and the re-opening of the famous Blue Door. They worked here together as a team, with Nikko promoting and Sarah bartending, just like they had in the beginning of their relationship. This again only lasted for a year before another life catalyst was thrown and they had to leave their apartment after being there for over 2 years. They decided to chase another storm to South Florida once more, this one was Hurricane Ian. Trying and realizing again that Florida was not the place for them. It was then the invite to Fairhope, Alabama was received. They decided to do something different and go somewhere neither one of them has been before. It was here that they were finally able to get to that point they had strived to be at for 6 years. Nikko proposed to Sarah on April 8th, 2024. And now, we're here. :)
