The airport we suggest you fly into is the Monterrey International Airport. The airport is 3 hours away from the Hotel you will be staying at.
Yes, the whole hotel is blocked for the weekend. You will pay when you get to the reception desk at the hotel. If you have specific requests in regards to the hotel please let the bride or groom know.
Most places take USD or Credit Cards, but small shops and tips are easier with Pesos. We recommend exchanging some currency at your local bank or at the airport as well!
There are two events before and after the wedding. Friday evening is the Callejoneada, where we will walk around the town for an hour and then eat dinner. Sunday afternoon will be the Tornaboda. This is a low-key event that we will just listen to live music, and enjoy some Mexican food at the Verastegui's Ranch!
We are requesting formal attire. For Men: Traditional suit and tie. Given the climate, breathable fabrics are highly recommended. Women: A floor-length gown or a very dressy midi-length cocktail dress.
Many venues in Parras have cobblestone paths, grass, or gravel. We strongly recommend block heels, wedges, or dressy flats for the women, and traditional dress shoes or polished boots are perfect. This will keep your feet protected from the desert dust!
Beyond the wedding, if you plan on exploring the Santo Madero chapel or touring the Casa Madero vineyards, bring a sturdy pair of sneakers or walking boots. The desert dust is part of the charm, but it's best enjoyed with covered toes!
Stick to bottled water, which is provided in abundance at the hotel.
It is generally warm to hot. Because the air is dry, you won't feel "sweaty" like at the beach, but the sun is much stronger at this altitude. Sunscreen is a must! In the night, this is the biggest surprise for guests! The desert cools down rapidly once the sun gets low. Temperatures can drop by 30 degrees.
