The story began in the hot summer of 2018, when the paths of Roman and Vera unexpectedly crossed in Frankfurt. This brief and unremarkable meeting, set seemingly by a random stroke of faith, later revealed itself as the end of a long search for a soulmate for both. Another year passed until the cold summer of 2019 in Moscow, where Vera went to see her friends. She didn’t know yet, but she already held a special place in Roman’s heart and he was awaiting her arrival. Carefully, as if dealing with the most fragile matter, they were getting to know each other, day by day. There in Moscow, Roman surprised Vera by taking her to an art show, and then, on top of a skyscraper neighboring a full moon, was their first date. After Vera left home, months passed in the constant exchange of messages, calls and photos. And so, another meeting was set for fall in Sacramento. Getting through bureaucracy, distance and borders, Roman finally got to Vera to say sincerely from the bottom of his heart: “I love you”. Accepting his feelings, Vera answered with reciprocity. Now being in love together, they once more had to say goodbye. As their feelings grew each day, winter came, and the year was about to end. And so, Roman and Vera decided to meet the new year together in snowy Moscow. Living through the winter fairy tale of the festive city, it was clearer and clearer how much they loved each other and how they did not want to say goodbye anymore. But they had to and the new year continued with them on different sides of the world once again. Now the days seemed even longer, and the wait was more harsh. The story culminated where it began – in Frankfurt, where they met again in the spring. It was during this time Roman planned a romantic trip with Vera to Paris – her favorite place in the whole world. Finding a quiet intimate spot with a view of the Eiffel Tower, Roman asked Vera for her hand in marriage and she said: “Yes”.
