Jake and I had been planning our trip to Europe for a few months and arrived in London on the morning of Friday, August 2nd. We were exhausted and jet lagged but decided to power through and go sightseeing! I am a huge Beatles fan so our first stop was Abbey Road. They have a live camera and I was having a blast waving at my sister while she was at work back home. Needless to say, I was unintentionally putting off going back to get ready for our 5:00 p.m. dinner reservations. As soon as Jake and I got back and started to get ready, I could tell something was up. Jake was dressed and ready to go within five minutes and very concerned about missing our reservation. Not only that, but he insisted on stopping by Holland Park, his "brother-in-law suggested it" and it was right near where we were staying. We get to the park and the first thing Jake says is, “Oh my god, it’s so crowded.” (l wasn’t sure why that was an issue at the time). Jake kept pointing out places for us to check out but they were all very crowded. Jake and I walked around for a bit longer trying to find a secluded space. We ended up on this little pathway and that’s when he proposed. I said “of course!” and we were able to celebrate that night and the rest of the trip with lots and lots of champagne.
