This 43-acre public garden, created in 1917 by Samuel and Minnie Untermyer, combines exceptional horticulture, monumental architecture, and multicultural design in a majestic natural setting overlooking the Hudson River. The gardens are just 20 minutes from the hotel and free to enter.
Kykuit, the Rockefeller Estate
Kykuit was home to four generations of the Rockefeller family, beginning with the philanthropist John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil. His business acumen made him, in his day, the richest man in America. Now a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, this extraordinary landmark has been continuously and meticulously maintained for more than 100 years. The house is just 15 minutes north of the hotel!
