We met and started chatting after meeting on a popular dating site. I, Venetia, was first impressed with Michael’s transparency in discussing the struggles of his life and how God helps him everyday. After a few more chats via the site, we decided to meet. Michael drove an hour for our first date, at the church I was attending. He is a long distance truck driver & had gotten home late the night before. That was impressive also. After church he took me to lunch where we spent over 2 hours talking.

After our first date we were in constant communication and soon realized we not only thought alike on many things but desired the same things in life. Surprise! Especially our mutual commitment to Jesus & The Bible was a major factor to both of us. We even liked the same types of foods and shared a common desire to live a healthy lifestyle. Surprise Again! Our relationship continued to grow & deepen at such a fast pace that really caught us both off guard. We were also pleasantly surprised at how comfortable we both felt with each other so quickly. Praying together and reading Bible passages together is part of dating process. We continue to be amazed at how often we move in sync with each other’s feelings also.

Michael had given me a beautiful ring on Valentines Day and was quick to tell me that it could be a promise ring or engagement ring. I think he wanted to see what my reaction would be. I accepted it as a promise ring at first but it didn't feel right so I gave the ring back a short time later and told him to hold it until he was ready to propose. I think we were both still trying to be cautious, due to the quick progress of our relationship, even though by this time we both knew we loved each other. On March 21 2022 , while spending a quiet evening together, Michael presented the same beautiful ring to me and sweetly asked me to marry him. Of Course, I said yes!
