Emily met Ethan when he was eating wings (seriously). Emily & Nathalie had just signed the lease to their first apartment in San Francisco & after a long day of apartment touring, were hungry for dinner. Unbeknownst to them it was “wing Wednesday”, a weekly tradition amongst Jack & his friends. Emily & Nathalie didn’t want wings for dinner (shocking), so decided to meet up with Jack & his friends after they ate. Emily & Ethan sat next to each other and after dinner, Ethan gave Emily a big hug, and headed to his new apartment on Steiner (so new that the Steiner Boys had yet been coined). The next weekend Emily was home in Santa Barbara & it was Fiesta! Emily (& Claire) heard Ethan was going to be at Nathalie’s Fiesta party. As the Velez family pulled into Nathalie’s driveway, Claire teased Emily about this boy named Ethan. Emily said to her family in a sarcastic tone “who knows, maybe I’ll marry him!”. The night ended with a few too many margs and Emily & Ethan shared their first kiss. They proceeded to have an idyllic Santa Barbara weekend with their best friends where they hiked Inspiration Point & swam out to the dock together at Hope Ranch Beach. Emily even met Ethan’s mom Laura at Corepower! And the rest is history! Emily & Ethan quickly discovered their shared love for the outdoors, travel, & good food with good friends. They feel incredibly lucky for their life in San Francisco that’s filled with the most incredible friends, trips, hikes & of course Hook Fish. They're grateful for their support system, near and far, and are excited to continue growing together and loving each other.
