Our Story

We met in late 2019 while we were both in the Army, stationed in the peach state of Georgia. After hanging out a few times with other friends, Daniel made the first move :) His invite to a coffee date was too sweet to resist and within a few weeks we were texting daily. COVID hit and we found ourselves taking lots of (socially distanced😉) walks in parks. It was during those walks that we would have deep conversations and reflections until something unexpected was developing ❤️. We made it official in May 2020 knowing we would soon live in different states, hundreds of miles apart, but we couldn't let the opportunity pass. By September 2020 Kim was transferred to Oklahoma and Daniel would stay in Georgia until he got out of the military in Feb 2021. We told ourselves, "what's three short years of living over 1,000 miles apart during Kim's last assignment?" Sounds easy, right? Well...in those three years we managed to road trip 10,000+ miles around the country, take multiple plane rides to visit each other and do weekly video chats on Sundays. We texted each other good morning and goodnight every day, and looked forward to a future where we could finally be together for more than a few days at a time. We cherished the moments we had together, and saying goodbye at airports when it was time to go back to our temporary homes was always a tearful 'see you soon'. Fast forward to Summer 2023, after having dated for three years, Daniel popped the big question on top of a little mountain near Crested Butte, Colorado during peak wildflower season in the presence of curious squirrels and a cloud of mosquitos. Now we are both in Dallas, within arm's reach of each other💚. For a while, our relationship was different than most people, so naturally we don't want to take the conventional road for a wedding. We want to be outdoors in nature where we've spent some of our best times surrounded by beauty, clarity, and the simplicity of being together, in love and exploring our beautiful world. Our plan is to hike up a mountain in Canada and get married at the top. We plan to have a videographer with us so that we can take our loved ones through a virtual journey during our Colorado and Texas receptions which will take place in the early Autumn. We hope that you'll experience our simple love language and reflect with us on our place in this world.❤️
