We became a couple our senior year of high school. In the time that we've known each other, we have lived in different cities, separated and reunited, dated other people, attended undergraduate and graduate school, and started our careers. We have experienced both incredibly happy moments and difficult challenges, but our love has endured through it all. It has been a remarkable and unforgettable journey. We are simply overjoyed at the thought of beginning our lives together as husband and wife! Let the adventure begin!

Matthew took Nicole to one of her favorite spots in Chicago, the 18th Street bridge overlooking Ping Tom Park. There is an incredible view of an old bridge, the Chicago River, the skyline and an old paper factory that Nicole has always loved. They went early on her birthday under the guise that she would be joining him to walk his family's dog. It was freezing, but the sky was clear and the view was just as spectacular. While on the bridge, Matthew got on one knee and simply said, "Hey, will you marry me?" Nicole accepted and they celebrated her birthday and their engagement later that evening at her family's home.
