The evening started in March 2018 when Velma (aka Vee), alongside her friend, Jameelah, went to see a movie at the Old Town Warren Theatre. During that time, Vee was just hired on as a bartender/server part-time & Jameelah wanted to introduce Vee to one of the other bartender/server, Carlos. The girls walked over to the bar where Carlos & Vee locked eyes, shook hands, & introduced themselves particularly wondering if they have met before. After a few questions about where they went to school, work, etc., Vee & Jameelah left for their movie leaving both Vee & Carlos mesmerized, both waiting for their next encounter. A few days later, Vee arrived to work anxiously waiting because she was excited to work with Carlos. As was he. Unfortunately, Vee had some personal issues going on, leaving her distraught but Carlos wanted to turn her frown, upside down. He immediately comforted her with words of advice & support, which caused Vee to discover there are really good guys out there, & she's lucky enough to be in one of their presence. After a few tears & laughs watching SpongeBob videos, their friendship officially blossomed. It’s crazy how Spongebob can bring together a friendship filled with such goofiness & joy. Through the course of over a year, Carlos & Vee's friendship grew strong, but their feelings for each other became stronger. They both developed a crush on each other and after asking for her permission, on December 15th, 2019, Carlos & Vee shared their first kiss. This friendship has turned into something more. Fast forward to July 4th, 2020. Carlos comes over to Vee's family's house to celebrate Vee's 2nd favorite holiday, 4th of July! The night doesn't go as planned that day BUT that didn't stop Carlos for asking Vee a question that will unknowingly change the rest of their lives. He asks her to be his girl. And Vee said, 'Yes!'

It started when Carlos talked to his best friend, Derrick, about proposing to Vee. Derrick asked a few questions about how, when, & where Carlos wanted to propose and Carlos quickly answered Old Town Warren Theatre. From that point on, Carlos threw out ideas & placed it all together. He even asked Vee’s dad, Ralph, for his blessing. The day comes, July 4th, 2022, which marked Carlos & Vee’s 2nd dating anniversary. Carlos planned for them to see Elvis and for them to wear matching outfits. They arrive to Old town Warren, greeted by all of their friends/co-workers & walked into an empty, dark theater 4. Vee didn’t think anything about it since Old Town always had issues with their projection. LOL As they were waiting for the movie to start, Carlos ran to check on management because the trailer was wrong. A few moments later, i2i cover by Brent Morgan, started over the theater & that's when Vee looked around to see her son, family, Carlos’s family & a few of their friends stand as Carlos enters through the theater’s entrance. With the beautiful music playing in the background, Carlos expresses his love & devotion to Vee and asks the question she never thought would ever be uttered to her; ‘Velma Louise Hill, will you marry me!?’ She obviously said…YES! or you wouldn’t be on this website! LOL :) It's definitely a MATCH made in HEAVEN!
