Our Story
We met one Friday night at Dave and Busters following a Mariners' Church 20s/30s night, becoming part of a friend group. As time went on, we started talking even more as friends. When Courtney finally came home from UCLA for Christmas break, we decided to walk around Balboa Island AS FRIENDS. Little did we both know, we would realize that we liked each other more than friends that night. James asked Courtney out on a date about a week later and the rest is history!
In the first few months, we would spend hours on the phone. James made multiple trips to LA to see Courtney, and Courtney drove down nearly every weekend for church. After graduation, hours on the phone turned into hours talking in person, Disneyland trips, Angel Games, Ducks Games, dinners, beach days, movies, sunsets and more!
After nearly 2 years together, James asked Courtney to marry him back where the feelings all started...on Balboa Island.
