David and I met in college in 2016 or 2017. I was working at the college bookstore and it was his first day. He told me that he was an English Major and that he transferred from another college. I looked at his schedule and we had almost every class together. We became really good friends after that. We would proof read each others’ papers and study together. We had a lot in common too. It was like we shared the same brain. David would always sit behind me in class. The day started with, “Hey, do you have a pen?” And end with, “hey, did you do the homework?”. David had one semester left after I graduated. One morning, my mom drove me to the bank to get a new debit card. David just got out of his first class and sprinted over to my mom’s truck. He asked me if I wanted to have dinner with him after his last class. At first I said no, I really didn’t feel like going anywhere. My mom chimed in and said that I wanted to go, so I went. We were inseparable after that. Even though I graduated, I was always at the college bringing him lunch, helping him study, or taking a nap on his bed before I had to go into work for the night. We were just really good friends and it turned into something amazing. David asked me if I wanted to move in with him in December and by Feburary, we moved into our own place. We’ve always shared the same dreams like becoming English teachers and eventually being those old mean professors at a small college. We have so much in common like video games and literature, for example. David is so smart, exceedingly kind, and so steadfast. I love him. He’s my best friend. And to think it all started with, “hey, do you have a pen?”. ❤️
