We're Getting Married

On what seemed to be a simple decision to go camping with family, turned out to be the best decision I could have ever made. I can’t say it was love at first site but there was definitely a spark. When Sam saw me walking through the camp ground he let out a quiet “Oh Damn”, I don’t think it was meant for me to hear but I did and it definitely caught my attention. I didn’t see him again that day but my curiosity was getting the best of me. The next day I decided to go down to the lake where Jaylon was because I knew Sam took all the kids. Once I got there we immediately locked eyes and began to talk. We continued to talk the rest of that day and realized that we had a lot in common. Ever since that moment at the lake we haven’t missed a beat and haven’t gone a day without talking to or seeing one another. I am so happy that I am not afraid to get dirty, and went camping. Who would have ever thought that we would meet our future spouses and children that fateful day?

I was planning Sam’s Birthday in New York and Martha’s Vineyard with the help of Jackie and Mike. Making sure everything went well with a couple surprises here and there. Unbeknownst to me he was secretly planning his proposal with them as well. After a great couple days in NY with friends we all caught a ferry to Martha’s Vineyard to spend a few more days relaxing. On September 15, 2018 we spent a beautiful day at a festival they were having on the island; Sam and I were walking the pier and I hadn’t noticed that our companions were no longer with us. By the time I realized this Sam began confessing his love for me and in that moment I was breathless and speechless, which doesn’t happen often. As he got down on one knee the tears began to run down my face uncontrollably, then he asked me to Marry him. What do you think my answer was?
