How We Met

No accidental left swipes here.

Michelle: "It's a match!" That's where it all began. That first connection led me to the love of my life. We began talking in July, 2014. Paul's opener focused on our mutual recent skydiving adventures. He then sent me, "rapid fire compliments", as he called it, within about a four second span commenting on my genuine smile, beautiful eyes, and how he could tell I had a positive spirit about me. I know, pretty cute, right? ;) I could instantly tell there was something different about him. I was quickly impressed with his passionate nature, emotional intelligence and adventurous spirit. He was enthusiastically interested in who I was, what I loved in life and simply wanted to share in that with me. Paul had an exuberance for life unlike no other and I was immediately drawn to that. (And still am.) I truly couldn't ask for a better partner in this crazy life. --------------- Paul: “Chocolate Melts, Flowers Wilt, a Swipe-right is Forever.” You know that tiny voice in the back of your head whispering “There’s something different about this one”? I felt that from the first pictures I saw of Michelle on Tinder. Something genuine, real, happy, and without walls up. I instantly wanted to know more about her and connect with that inner light coming out of those pictures. There was something so openly beautiful about who she was, it was coming right out of the screen. People joke about Tinder being a superficial dating app, but all it offers is an introduction. No lengthy profiles, no expectations, no overthinking anything. Everything else is up to you two. I was in a low place at the time, so in a moment of impulsive vulnerability I decided to stream-of-consciousness geyser all my positive observations about Michelle and see how it went. Almost four amazing years later and I'm the happiest most complete person I've ever been, and we’re getting married. Booyeah.
