Every love story is an adventure, here’s how ours began... We met at a popular nightclub in Sacramento, on January of 2015. After a few flirtatious banter and offbeat dancing later, we exchanged phone numbers. In our first few months of dating, Danny would express his love for the outdoors. He would share stories of his backpacking and hiking trips. Mim, being a city girl, was captivated by his stories of the wilderness. Danny started planning on taking Mim on her first backpacking trip to Mt. Tallac. Little did she know...she’d be hiking at night and 9,738ft up in elevation, while carrying a heavy backpack. There were plenty of rest breaks, hate meters, questionable “1.5 miles” and a close encounter with a porcupine. We finally found a spot to settle and camp for the night. The next morning, we woke up next to a beautiful lake, had breakfast and started on our hike up to Mt. Tallac. It was challenging, but we made it to the top and was rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Tahoe. It was there, when we realized that this adventure was the beginning of many more with each other. We moved in together in May of 2017 and went on more hiking, backpacking and traveling adventures, but our biggest and most rewarding adventure was being blessed with our beautiful baby girl, Isabel. Danny proposed on Valentine’s Day 2020 with Isabel in one hand and a ring in the other.
