Travel Note
Paso Robles is perfectly situated between San Francisco and Los Angeles, offering scenic coastal views. From LAX, it's about a 4-hour drive—longer with traffic. For a memorable journey, take Highway 101 instead of I-5, with great stops like Pismo Beach, Arroyo Grande, and San Luis Obispo. From San Francisco, the drive takes about 3 hours, and 2.5 hours from San Jose, both with plenty to explore along the way. If you choose Historic Highway 1, expect a longer drive, but you'll enjoy sights like Hearst Castle and the coastline with elephant seals in San Simeon.
Train
AMTRAK's Coast Starlight connects Seattle to Los Angeles in about 35 hours, with stops in major cities and direct access to Paso Robles.
Train
From the south, take the Pacific Surfliner from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, then rent a car (or utilize a ride share service) for the final 30 minutes.
Flight
The nearest airport is San Luis Obispo County Regional (SBP), located about 30 minutes from Paso Robles. For international travelers, we recommend flying into LAX or SFO and then taking a connecting flight to SBP.
