Our Story

What Is Meant To Be Will Find a Way

Corey and Leah (or Lia to some, depending on what point in time you came into her life) had gone to high school together; Corey was a senior when Leah was a freshman. They likely crossed paths, but did not hang out with the same people. Or so she thought. Corey regales Leah with memories of being at her house, playing video games with her brothers in her basement, and attending one of the 4th of July parties her parents were known to throw. Corey remembers the first time he met Leah. It was at the basketball courts at the Consolidated School. He remembers her sitting with her legs crossed and thinking, "Man, this girl is bossy!" But no amusement to Corey, Leah to this day will tell him she does not remember these encounters. A few years later, Leah and Corey were at the Brew Too with a mutual friend. There, they talked about life and failed love. They hung out a few more times here and there. Corey invited Leah to a company wine tasting, where they had the best time. Wine continues to be integral to their relationship, having traveled to different wineries and saving corks, and it was almost part of how Corey proposed. After going to the Cape, Keene's Pumpkin Fest, Paintballing Zombies, traveling to Baltimore, attending Orioles games, and eating so many multigrain bagels, something just did not seem to work, and they parted ways. Corey and Leah spent 5 years living their own lives and becoming who they are. They learned several life lessons but always kept up with each other, unbeknownst to the other. They had one or two run-ins, one of which Corey had asked Leah to meet for drinks; however, she politely declined. About 7 months later, on 3/5/2019, Corey received a message on Instagram from Leah asking, "Want to go for that drink?" And the rest is history. On 8/12/2023, Leah had asked Corey if he wanted to go flower picking. He had come downstairs wearing a polo and nice pants. She had immediately told him to change because he might get pollen all over his nice clothes. He obliged. He told her he needed to pick up a frame for a poster on the way at his parents' house. When they got to the field, they were alone; no one else was around. After about the third flower, Leah heard Corey say, "What about this flower?" Corey was on bended knee with THE ring in his hand. She immediately said, "Yes!" She was so excited, she almost did not want to finish picking flowers because she wanted to tell everyone! Now, here we are, a house, a dog, and an official Big Fat Greek Wedding to look forward to! We cannot wait to share this special moment that has been a LONG time coming!!! See you on 2/15/2026!
