The Beginning of The Vavas (Brides Perspective)

Two people, one night, God’s perfect timing

You know that feeling when you walk into a room and immediately sense someone staring at you, like really staring, the kind of stare that makes you do that awkward don’t‑look‑but‑I’m‑definitely‑looking glance every few minutes. That was me the moment I walked into that party. I had been invited and honestly didn’t want to go. I almost stayed home, but something in me said, “Just go.” So I did. And the second I stepped inside, I noticed him looking at me. And every time I checked again, he was still looking. It was impossible to ignore. Meanwhile, we were both doing our own thing. Talking to different people, playing games, laughing, just enjoying the night separately. But somehow, no matter what we were doing, we kept finding each other across the room. Eventually, after what I imagine was a long internal pep talk, he finally came over to talk to me. And that’s when I went straight into full life story mode. I didn’t ease into it. I didn’t warm up. I just started talking. And talking. And talking. He got my entire life story in one sitting. And the funniest part is he was actually interested and remembered a lot of what I said. And if you know me, you know I can TALK. Why he didn’t run away, I did not know. But God knew exactly what He was doing. Because that one simple yes to an invitation, and that one long conversation neither of us planned, led us right here. I replay that night often, amazed that something so ordinary turned into the beginning of everything we have now.
