Do you remember, when it was last September? Noah and Rachel both had a little bit of Grace in their lives. Through Grace, their red-headed friend, a few game nights with friends, and Faith Bible Church, this couple was able to meet each other. What started out as merely friendship (so Noah thought...) quickly fostered into a loving relationship as each realized God had brought someone into their lives that was more than they could have hoped, or dreamed, or prayed for. Realizing the work that God had done in both of their lives, they prayed through this unexpected time for God to reveal His will and allow their relationship to grow through Him, and only Him. In the midst of prayer was a series of love songs, long walks, and, poké dates, and it wasn't long before Noah and Rachel were officially dating! Each time spent with each other was intentional time where they could allow their relationship to grow through getting to know each other's mannerisms, tones, habits, likes & dislikes and even tempers. But with each moment together they learned the significance of staying on the same team together (unless we are playing Cornhole) and even more importantly keeping God as the foundation of their relationship. Though they are continuing to learn so much through their engagement, they look forward to seeing how God brings them closer together as they continue to grow further like Christ as ONE.
With the help of Ryan and Kate Garcia, Noah was able to pull off one of the most incredible proposals to date. On Thursday, May 27, 2021, Noah and Rachel embarked on a weekend adventure to Yosemite. After a long road trip and very little sleep, they woke up at 3:30 A.M. the following morning in committing to capture the beauty of the sunrise at Tunnel's View Point. It was incredible and worth losing sleep over. During this time, Rachel pulled Noah aside to spend a moment alone to pray for their upcoming day together. The two had never watched a sunrise together, let alone at a place as breathtaking as this, and Rachel wanted to thank the Lord for this blessing that surrounded her and Noah. Later on that day, after a much needed nap, Rachel was determined to see Vernall Falls. As the group hiked the incline, Noah kept everyone energized as he carried his guitar on his back. After hiking an uphill trail the entourage encountered the narrow, steep staircase leading up directly to the falls. It was at this moment, Noah felt the reality of an imminent proposal and felt nervous, but very excited. After arriving to the base of the falls in the midst of a shower of mist, they were able to climb up onto a large flat rock above the trail to enjoy the beauty and their lunch. After some time, Noah turned to Rachel and explained that he had brought her a little gift to give her some peace as she loves to overthink. Together they sat on the rock as Noah presented her a journal that he had been working on for the duration of their relationship. It was filled with different journal entries of times they had spent together as well as photos to go with it. The first page particularly described the day that he knew he wanted to marry Rachel. After reading most of the journal, Noah grabbed his guitar and knelt down to sing a song he wrote just for Rachel. In this song, Noah said "I love you" for the first time to Rachel. Then, while on his knee, he pulled out a ring, and well...
Many of you know her as friend or family. For those of you who don’t, let me just say Rachel is incredible! Those who have experienced her host or assist in hosting an event have seen her servant’s heart in action as she expresses her creative and organized mind in various parties and celebrations. Those who have experienced Rachel’s game nights have witnessed that she is very fun and can even be a little crazy. Despite her epic game nights, Rachel is in no way competitive and simply loves fostering fellowship and fun. She is a true joy to be around and a faithful friend who will go above and beyond in anything you ask her to do. Rachel likes Noah very much. She always has the biggest smile on her face when he walks through the door and often will rush to greet him with a hug. She enjoys long walks with Noah, which are generally filled with quality conversation and plenty of laughs. Dates with Rachel are always super fun as she can turn something as simple as sitting on the beach into a fun activity filled with quality time. Because Rachel is also just a joy to be around, often the best times with her are when there is no plan and Rachel and Noah get some leisure time together. Rachel is an along-for-the-ride kind of girl and is always willing to go on any wild adventure Noah plans, as long as those crazy adventures don’t involve life threatening circumstances (like jumping out of a plane or something). She always makes bomb food and has even taught Noah how to cook a few things. On top of that, she is also gorgeous, but you can look at our photo section to see that! Above all else, Rachel loves God and loves the word of God. Rachel has a massive respect for God’s Word in her life and sees it as the ultimate authority in her life. She is eager to glean from scripture and is faithful in prayer. Though she was only saved in the last few years, she has grown leaps and bounds as she has prioritized seeking council and building relationships in the church.
Many of you know him as friends or family, but for those of you who don't, let me just say that Noah is incredible! Noah is the type of guy that everyone wants around, because it wouldn't be a complete party without him. Whether it's a Thursday evening after work or a Saturday morning surf sesh, Noah is happy to be around people! He is always singing a tune or dancing around. On a more serious side he is the guy that will help get the job done, emphasis on the "help," not because he is incapable of leading a job, but because he is always so willing to help and serve others in any way possible. Noah is a hard worker and passionate about the future. He currently plans to be a physician assistant, teacher, and possible future Father. He loves organized schedules with the addition of some down time intertwined so that he can recharge for his next task. Some of his hobbies include surfing, snowboarding, playing his guitar and adventuring new places and new activities. He is extra great at problem solving and figuring out how to fix or alter things even if he is unaccustomed. Noah is courageous and open-minded in diving into the unfamiliar. He is sentimental about everything. He LOVES his family SO much! He loves the Lord and serving the church. Lastly, he has been an immense help in the planning of this wedding and Rachel is very appreciative for him and all that he is. Noah has been a smashing son, a great brother to his twelve siblings, a loyal friend and will no doubt be an exquisite husband.
