Other than immediate family, this will be an adults-only celebration.

What time does the wedding start?

Answer

The ceremony will begin at 5p — please plan to arrive 20-30 minutes prior to get comfortable.

How do I get to the venue?

Answer

Enter "The Detroit Yacht Club" on your GPS. You'll have to enter Belle Isle (now a Michigan State Park) first. When you arrive, you can drive straight through & continue following the GPS to the DYC entrance. Be careful of the one way roads, and enjoy the views!

State Park, you say?

Answer

Yes, technically the venue is only accessible by entering Belle Isle State Park. There's a chance you might get stopped in line upon entering and asked to pay park admittance. Let them know you're en route to the DYC for a wedding!

Is the venue handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes! There's an elevator through the door on the left when you arrive.

How do I get off the island?

Answer

If you're not fit for driving after the reception, you can leave your car in the DYC parking lot overnight and Uber/Lyft back to your accommodations.

What should I wear?

Answer

Cocktail or Semi-Formal are welcomed! It's going to be peak summer, so dress accordingly.

Is there a dress code for the venue?

Answer

If you visit the DYC outside of the wedding festivities → per their website: "Preferred dress code is coat and tie for men, but collared shirts with a jacket are acceptable with dress slacks and shoes. Dress code for women is dresses or pantsuits and shoes."

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors, with the cocktail hour on the veranda. However, we'll have access to the full property and you're welcome to enjoy the docks & river throughout the evening.

Yes, see the top menu of this site. Gifts are not expected nor required. We're just so glad you can join us for this celebration.
