We’re getting married!

On a Monday morning at 8 a.m., Scott and Lexi both took their seats in a History of Economics class at SUNY New Paltz (Lexi's first ever college class!). The room smelled faintly of coffee, the light was still sleepy, and neither of them could have guessed that something life-changing was quietly beginning. Their paths had actually crossed months before. Scott was a freshman in college, and Lexi was still a high school senior on her overnight visit. It was a fleeting meeting that neither remembers clearly, as if fate had tucked it away for later. That first year, they moved through life in the same orbit. They shared friends, appeared side by side in group photos, and even traded homework unknowingly through a mutual friend. Still, their worlds never fully touched. Then the spring semester ended suddenly, and the world fell silent. When the pandemic sent them home, a single moment shifted everything. Scott replied to one of Lexi’s Instagram stories. It was small and simple, but it opened a conversation that never stopped. Through the months that followed, they discovered a rhythm together. They laughed until their cheeks hurt, leaned on each other when life felt heavy, and grew from teenagers figuring out the world to partners building a life side by side. They finished college as a team, adopted their beloved dog Enzo, and moved into their first apartment together.
