From Cape Town to Southampton: A Journey of Love Liezel embarked on a life-changing journey, moving 5,991 miles from her hometown of Cape Town, South Africa, to the historic city of Southampton in the United Kingdom. It was here, at Southampton General Hospital, that she would meet her Italian Stallion, Mark Pantanella, and their love story would begin. A New Beginning On November 1, 2022, Liezel started her new role as a Quantity Surveyor in the Estates Department at Southampton General Hospital. Unbeknownst to her, Mark, a talented CAD technician at the same hospital, had been admiring her from afar. For the first month, he only saw the back of her head, her long black hair reminiscent of a real-life Pocahontas, captivating his imagination. First Impressions December brought the courage for their first conversation. Liezel found Mark charming but somewhat peculiar, while Mark was immediately struck by her beauty, kind heart, and sweet nature. Their friendship blossomed as they grew fond of one another, sharing moments that pulled at their heartstrings. During a difficult time for Mark, as his beloved Nonna was ill, Liezel became his pillar of strength, deepening their bond. The First Date In July 2023, Mark mustered the courage to ask Liezel out. Their first date on July 30, 2023, was memorable, marked by Mark's typical lateness. Despite this, the date was a success, and it wasn’t long before they officially became a couple in November 2023. Their love progressed, grew, and flourished, each moment bringing them closer together. A Proposal to Remember On April 2, 2024, in Cinque Terre, Mark took a knee and asked Liezel the question that would change their lives forever: “Mio speciale Liezel, mi vuoi sposare?” With tears of joy, Liezel responded, “Grande sì.” Their Love Continues Liezel and Mark’s love story is a testament to the power of destiny, courage, and unwavering support.
