Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, and to protect the health and safety of our family and friends, we have decided to move our wedding celebrations to Thursday, September 10, 2020. We thank you for your patience and understanding and hope you can still join us for this joyous occasion!
It all started with a dog, a frozen river and a cold January day in Michigan. Sam, who was working at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in St. Joseph, MI, was called to rescue a German Shepard who somehow escaped his home and got stuck on the frozen river. The story, and video, was just too good to resist on a slow, Sunday news day. I was a reporter at WSBT 22 in South Bend, IN at the time and was sent to interview Sam about his harrowing ordeal to try and reunite the dog with its owners. The rest is history.
On a cold and rainy spring day in Newport RI, Sam took us to Castle Hill Inn, a beautiful seaside spot overlooking Narragansett Bay for lunch. The hostess brought out our scrapbook, and as we flipped through the pages, one read, "will you marry me?" Sam got down on one knee and I said YES! As if that wasn't enough of a surprise, both of our parents traveled hours to celebrate the exciting news with us! It was perfect! Now, we can't wait to celebrate our special day with you! See you in Newport!
