"They hired a new guy" "A guy? I thought they didn't hire guys here." "His mom worked here too." "Must be special" And special it was. At the time, we didn't know how much Webster's Country Burger Drive-in would end up meaning to us. How it would become the first tiny dot on our endless timeline. I thought he was a jock and liked to party. I thought she had intimidating eyes. Little did we know, we were more alike than we cared to admit; escaping into worlds of fiction by books and games late hours into the night. We'd text late, living a thousands lives together before waking up for work the next day. We knew we were down bad when we'd want to go to work. But talking and fighting over whose music was better (It was mine hehe!) didn't feel like work at all. Eventually our shifts weren't enough time together, and I wanted to get my AA. I just wanted to spend time with her, and Delta College at night in Stockton is scary so I thought I'd tag along. Rasputin music was close by so we'd go before class and talk music for hours and trade cds. It was a win, win. I'll always remember Adam getting in trouble for being on his phone and the professor asked if he cared to share with the class. Adam promptly stated Panda Express's closing time and his wishes for the class to get out early that day so he could get us dinner. It was the first of many wishes that came true for us! Soon after, at a Brand New concert, Adam asked me to be his Girlfriend. I remember he kissed my cheek during the song Degausser and I said yes. It was the first of our many, many concerts together. Over the years, it's still one of our favorite things to do together. We might not be driving down to LA and back for a Parkway Drive concert on the same night anymore, but we still have some stories to unfold! Our worlds collided and no longer were we living vicariously through our books and games. Webster's was the start of our story, the beginning of building our lives together. We moved in together fairly quick after and just knew it was right. When you find your best friend, that person that understands and respects you, who see's you, you just know. It was just the beginning. But we knew it in our hearts then, like we do now, that what we felt was infinite.
