We're getting married!

♡ We met in November of 2023, and it didn't take long for us to realize we had found something incredibly special. Our lives were a beautiful mix of two different worlds—with Vanja serving the community as a police officer and first responder, and Ryan working as a hockey professional coaching elite players and co-owning The Burlington Pond. Our journey truly set in motion during a playful game of air hockey, where we shared our very first kiss right after a highly contested match. Not long after, we took the big step of moving our lives together. We became a little family of three alongside Doug, who had already been a loyal companion for years, and we quickly filled our home with endless love, laughter, and an infinite supply of dad jokes. On September 19, 2025, our lives changed forever when we got engaged at the very park where we walk Doug every single day—a place that holds so many of our ordinary, beautiful moments. Not long after, we made sure to bring our sweet dog, Miki—who still happily reigns supreme over at the parents' house—down to that exact spot to show him where the magic happened, ensuring he was a part of our milestone, too. Exactly one year later, on September 19, 2026, we will be celebrating both our one-year engagement anniversary and the first day of our forever as husband and wife. Standing in the gardens, stepping into this next chapter, we know our day wouldn't be complete without the people who have loved and supported us along the way.
