Our love story began in high school, back in 2005. Our mutual friend introduced us over winter break. Although we had not formally met in person yet, we spent that winter chatting every day. After several months and countless conversations, we became close friends. Although our friendship felt natural and comfortable, we were both extremely timid to approach each other once the school year started. This was one of the many signs that we had developed much larger feelings for one another. We would see each other from across the hall, and gently smile or nod from afar. It literally took Vanessa physically bumping into David to initiate that first in person interaction. After shaking off the shyness, we became inseparable. In 2006, we became official boyfriend & girlfriend, thus translating into high school sweethearts.

On May 23, 2021, David handed Vanessa the keys to their new home and asked her to be the first to open the door to their new beginning. Naturally, she took the keys and jokingly reenacted the “Welcome to my crib” scene from MTV. As she excitingly swung the door open, she was greeted by a “Will you marry me?” sign. Stunned, she re-read what she thought said, “Welcome home” several times. After a few hard blinks, it was clear…the sign read, “Will you marry me?” She turned to find David down on one knee and he proposed! We were both so excited to begin our new life together, engaged! We were both kids when we fell in love, and had no idea that those teenage dreams would someday become our reality. 16 years and two fur babies later (Chrissy & Kygo) we are getting married! We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
