We're getting married!

The couple found love in a hopeless place - a dating app, Hinge! After moving back east from San Francisco and expanding her dating app radius from the local fishermen in Newport, Rhode Island, Vanessa and Woody's profiles collided. Woody's profile featured a Q&A - "What are you looking for?" - Woody's response: "Nothing serious, just a wife." Little did he know he was about to do just that on his first date with Vanessa. After Vanessa's family and friends confirmed she met a real man (not a serial killer), they enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Persimmon in Providence. Their second date involved a meeting of Vanessa's cavapoo Gus and Woody's black lab Lexi. Gus and Lexi immediately bonded as siblings; Gus terrorizing Lexi as the annoying little brother (then 1-year-old), Lexi (then 12-years-old) maturely and sweetly putting up with his puppy nonsense and playing back when he managed to annoy her just enough. Their shared love for food, their dogs, travel, nature, art, and photography has made every day an adventure since. Vanessa said yes in their favorite local park with the dogs in August 2024, after both dogs almost blew the cover for the wedding photographer (on brand!). The couple looks forward to celebrating their love and commitment to each other in one of their favorite places, Nantucket, Massachusetts, and sharing it with their closest friends and family in May 2025.
