Vanessa: Vijay and I first matched on a dating app Hinge. I actually forgot to change my location range when starting my profile, leading to us matching even though he lived in San Francisco and I lived in Stockton. Vijay: Vanessa and I started out talking over FaceTime, and before we knew it we were talking every day and couldn't wait to meet each other in person. When we finally met, it felt new and exciting while at the same time familiar and comforting. Vanessa: Vijay took us to his favorite park in the city as we looked over San Francisco and talked more about our lives and how excited we were to finally be in person together. He cooked us dinner, and I was counting down the days until we could see each other again knowing that we had something special. Vijay: It didn't take me too long to realize this was something special and a month later I asked her to be my girlfriend, and considering we're engaged now it's safe to say she said yes 😂 Vanessa: Over the years Vijay and I have had many sweet memories, as we've fallen more and more in love with each other. Some of my favorites include traveling together as well as the mundane parts of life like grocery shopping and cleaning together. It didn't take long to know that Vijay was the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. He makes everything better. Vijay: Throughout our relationship we became the best of friends, and did almost everything together. It became very apparent to me that Vanessa was my person, and that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. 👫 Vanessa: Vijay and I planned a trip to one of our favorite places, Napa, during my winter break, January 2025. I was excited for a getaway together just the two of us, and of course was hoping that he would ask me to marry him here, but of course didn't want to get my hopes up in case it didn't happen. Vijay: The first day of our trip we took a quick walk around the vineyard near our hotel, and I noticed the perfect proposal spot. I suggested to Vanessa that we should come back the next day to have a picnic, and that would be when I would propose. Vanessa: The next day, January 4th, we woke up both excited and full of joy because I was pretty sure that today was the day. The only way I can think of describing it is like two kids on Christmas morning. We got dressed up to walk over and have a picnic, as well as take photos before we headed out to our dinner reservations. As we walked up to the top of the hill, I noticed Vijay taking deep breaths and thought to myself "I think this is actually happening!" Vijay: When it was time, I made sure the photographer was in place and asked her to marry me! 💍 Everything went better than expected, the weather was perfect, lighting was amazing, and I didn't drop the ring! Vanessa and Vijay: We can't wait to spend the rest of our lives with each other and to continue writing our love story in this next chapter of life! ❤️
