In March 2023, Makana was living in Hawai‘i when he took a trip to Seattle, Washington—not realizing that a few days earlier, he had followed a girl on Instagram who lived there. When Vanessa saw his post, she messaged him asking, “What are you visiting Washington for?” That one question became the start of everything. Soon after, late-night conversations turned into deep connections. We discovered our shared love for music, family, photography, and most importantly, our faith in God. It was clear that He had brought us together with purpose. From that moment on, every step of our journey—our first visit, our long-distance weekends, our growing careers, and our unwavering support for each other—became a reflection of His perfect timing. On September 14th, 2025, surrounded by our loved ones on the Oregon Coast, Makana asked Vanessa to be his forever. As the ocean waves rolled beside us, we were reminded that every part of our story—every prayer, every mile apart, every blessing—led us exactly where we were meant to be. Now, as we prepare to say “I do” on August 14th, 2027, we stand in awe of the love that God wrote just for us.
