We met as classmates at our high school radio station, back when he was a senior and I was a junior. We crossed paths in the spring while he was in the middle of deciding where to go to college, and before we knew it, he was headed off to the University of Michigan while I stayed in Indiana to finish high school (and later, college too). We didn’t officially start dating until that summer, which gave us about three months to decide if long distance was something we really wanted to take on. Spoiler alert: we did. Six years, countless miles, and a whole lot of FaceTime calls later, he popped the question in Iceland—proving that long distance was absolutely worth it!
