Ways onto the island

The most common way to access the island is to take the Mukilteo ferry to Clinton. The ferry comes every half hour in the Summer and takes about 20mins to get across from the mainland to Whidbey but the lines and wait times can get very very long during peak season so we absolutely recommend you arriving to the ferry line with plenty of time to spare, as early as possible, and with a full belly! You can check the wait times by going to https://wsdot.com/ferries/vesselwatch/terminaldetail.aspx?terminalid=5 and checking the amount of available spaces or scrolling down to the Ferry Alert Bulletins section for wait times. If the ferry wait time is over 2hrs it may make sense to drive around the island and drive on from the North end, click the link to view that route.

Nearby Towns & Distance to Wedding Location

Greenbank - Our neighborhood, anywhere in this area is very close by. Freeland - The neighborhood right next to us, about 8-10mins away. Langley - A beautiful little town to visit and stay in, is located a bit further about 20mins from us. Clinton - The closest to the ferry terminal and on the Southern most part of the island. This town is located about 20mins away. Coupeville - This is the furthest we would recommend going North as anywhere further than this is a fairly far drive. Another very cute town about 20mins North of us.

SeaTac Airport

$ Located about 2hrs from Whidbey Island. Please keep in mind that the ferry line does vary as does traffic passing Seattle so the travel time to the island will vary as well.

Paine Field Airport

$$$ Small airport located only 20mins from the ferry to Whidbey Island. Paine Field services a limited number of Alaska Airlines flights. VERY convenient (and adorable) airport though the pricing is typically higher than flights into and out of SeaTac Airport.

Train

SeaTac/Paine Field/Whidbey Shuttle

This shuttle takes you straight from either airport to Whidbey Island and drops you at stops all along the Island. Make sure to make an advanced reservation as they have limited times and seating.
