Michael and his bro's planned on having a typical Saturday night out on the town, meanwhile, Vanessa and a couple of single co-workers decided that the only way to change their situation was for them to take action and go out together. Good thing they did! Michael spotted Vanessa at the Dogwood on West 6th St, and from that moment on was determined to find a way to get to know her. Those of you that know Vanessa, can only imagine just how challenging that could have been. Luckily, Michael had his bro's as his wingmen, but even then they weren't enough to help out. Vanessa was distracted by the fact that she lost her co-worker, and was really determined to find him/get away from this random dude that approached her at the bar! Even though she was potentially out to find the man of her dreams, deep down in heart she didn't think it would happen. Of course Michael offers his help (because he's the most kind!), but Vanessa is quick to shoot him down because he has NO idea what her friend looks like! She was some what enamored by his beautiful blue eyes, and it was enough to distract her from the search. Michael wanted her number, but Vanessa didn't trust the situation (she never trusts anyone or anything). She asked for his Driver's License to verify his name and age, because she also didn't want him to be too young! Once everything checked out, she was a little more interested, but not ready to give up her digits. Then Michael kicked it up a notch. He offered his phone to Vanessa to keep for the night, and that he would call her on that phone later on. She was taken aback. What person would give their phone to a complete stranger?!?! It was ridiculous, and obviously the ONLY option was to give him her number!!! The rest is history.

Vanessa and Michael did things a little out of order when it comes to typical relationship progressions. Timing wise they were ready to commit to buying their first home, so in May they became proud owners of their favorite place to be. They took a trip to Cancun the week before they got their keys to their house, and things really couldn't have been more perfect in Vanessa's eyes. She was as happy as can be! Then, Michael asked her out to dinner to celebrate their new home, and planned that they would go see the house afterward. He said "make sure you wear something nice." It was on Wednesday, and Vanessa felt silly getting all dolled up, but she did it anyway because she doesn't pass up the opportunity! Once ready to leave for dinner, Vanessa hops in the car, and Michael says "Oops, I forgot something." She later finds out that he went in to take a tequila shot!! So he hops back in the car, and asks for gum. He never chews gum (he was masking the tequila smell)! Things were getting weird. Vanessa as usual was skeptical. Michael drove, but wasn't going the right way. Of course Vanessa is then on high alert, and he assures her they're going to see the house first. They arrive at the house and he fumbles to open the front door. Once he opens it, he looks back and gives Vanessa a weird look. Little did she know one of the happiest moments of her life was unfolding right before her eyes. After walking through the door, she's hit with flashes of light. She can't see anything, it's dark in the house, and she can only make out silhouettes.. Vanessa turns to look at Michael and he is down on one knee. YES, I love you!!!, were the next words that came out of Vanessa's mouth. All the excitement and happiness that filled their home was overwhelming. All the most important people who could make it were there, and Michael did an amazing job of making the moment so special.
