Anand Karaj Ceremony - Temple Details Scarves head coverings will be provided at the Gurdwara for those who need them. Please remove your shoes before entering the prayer hall and dress modestly in attire that covers shoulders and legs.
Anand Karaj means “Blissful Union” and is the traditional Sikh wedding ceremony. It is a peaceful and spiritual event where the couple is joined together in the presence of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Sikh holy scripture. Instead of exchanging vows, the couple walks around the Guru Granth Sahib four times while listening to sacred hymns called the Laavan. Each round represents a step in their journey of love, faith, and unity. The Anand Karaj focuses on equality, respect, and devotion, marking the beginning of a shared life filled with purpose, kindness, and spiritual connection. We’re so honored to share this sacred ceremony with you.
