Things To Do

Southern California is absolutely awash with things to do! From very famous theme parks (Disney Land!) to some of the greatest surf spots in the country (Trestles!). These are a few of our favorite things to do along with some suggestions for what you might want to do!
Top of the World

Top of the World

3299 Alta Laguna Blvd, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
, (949) 923-2200

Amazing views and right in the heart of Laguna Beach. Be sure to check out the "Car Wreck" trail if you're up for an "intermediate" level hike.

Shaws Cove

Shaws Cove

989 Cliff Dr, Laguna Beach, CA 92651

For those who love to experience life underwater Shaws Cove is a great place for diving! Its one of the first places we dove together and we love it. Be sure you look for Shelly the statue while you're down there. This is also a great spot to hang out on the beach and enjoy the sun :)

Doheny State Beach

Doheny State Beach

25300 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Dana Point, CA 92629
, (949) 496-6171

Looking to get your stoke on while you're out here? Look no further than Doheny State Beach! One of the best beaches to learn to surf. Fun fact, this is were Vanessa stood up and rode her first wave all the way to the beach! According to legend a local told her that she looked "stylish" doing it.

Husky Boy Burgers

Husky Boy Burgers

802 North Pacific Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
, (949) 497-9605

After your Dive, Hike or Ride in the Laguna area Husky Boy Burgers is a MUST to refuel! This is our favorite spot post Laguna Beach activities. We suggest you grab it to go and walk across the street to eat on the cliff overlooking the water. Pro Tip: Make sure to grab some "homemade ranch" and put some seasoning on the fries!

Nomads Canteen

Nomads Canteen

102 Avenida Cabrillo, San Clemente, CA 92672
, (949) 481-4153

This is Jasons favorite spot for a bite in San Clemente! A solid selection of craft beers and huge collection of Tequilas you are sure to find something to quench your thirst. An absolute must when stopping here is the Carne Asada Torta, I can never get enough of it, keeps me coming back time and time again! If you see Jeff or Renee be sure to say Jason from Kona says Hi :)

Trestles Beach

Trestles Beach

CA

Looking for world class surf? Check out Trestles at San Onofre State Park! While October is certainly not its peak season (loves that summer south swell) it can absolutely still get very good. I recommend you surf Church which is just a bit south of the ever famous Lowers and slightly less crowded :). Pro Tip: After surfing Trestles it is imperative that you get a Carne Asada Burrito from Pedros! Be sure to ask for extra hot sauce.

Mountain Biking

Mountain Biking

For those who crave the adrenaline rush of riding at incredible speeds down a mountain on a bike we have some excellent trails in SoCal! Check out the website below to find the perfect trail for you! Fun Fact you can Mountain Bike at Top of the World in Laguna as well!

Marina Sailing Newport Beach

Marina Sailing Newport Beach

190 East Coast Highway, Newport Beach, CA 92660
, (949) 548-8900

For those sailing enthusiasts who would like to get on the water head down to Newport Beach! We both have enjoyed sailing off the SoCal coast and in fact Vanessa is now both ASA101 and ASA103 Certified! Marina Sailing has great bareboat charter options. Pro Tip: Avoid sailing vessel Sea Shells (ok fine she is great but we have crashed her into the dock a few times :)).

StillWater Spirits & Sounds

StillWater Spirits & Sounds

24701 Del Prado Avenue, Dana Point, CA 92629
, (949) 661-6003

This is one of our favorite spots in Dana Point to grab a cocktail or some tasty food! They have lots of craft beer on tap and the outdoor patio is a great spot to hang for an afternoon!

1000 Steps Beach

1000 Steps Beach

31972 Coast Highway, Laguna Beach, CA 92651
, (949) 497-3311

An incredible location to get down to the beach and hang out. Great spot for a walk or just to lay out. There can also be some solid body surfing there when the swell is up.
