Our love story begins here.
He reacted to several stories on Instagram with fire emojis, but I ignored him. Then, a couple of weeks later, with an imminent lockdown, he caught my attention while exercising on an Instagram story, so I thought: "A 100 emoji reaction should suffice". He did not miss the chance. Lockdown began, and we knew it would be challenging, but we didn't mind. Instead, we improvised, from Whatsapp voice notes to Netflix parties. Two years later, with ups and downs, here we are. Not a day goes by without him making me smile.
The first time I ran into Vanessa, she mistook my car for hers and tried to open it. Thereby forcing me to ask: 'What are you doing?' She laughed and walked away, while I could only think of how pretty she was and, of course, continues to be. Little did I know, I would be signing myself for a lifetime of adorable clumsiness. After several futile attempts to get her attention by reacting with fire emojis to her stories, I thought, 'Maybe I am not her type.' However, it was all part of her charm. She later reacted to one of my pre-pandemic stories, setting the wheels in motion for a conversation that later became a hug and a kiss. Forge in the midst of the pandemic, our story continues to be written, and undoubtedly, with Vanessa, I found the treasure at the rainbow's end.
