It all began in high school when Edgar asked Vanessa to prom in the most unforgettable way. With a little help from her best friends, Rosemary and Taylor, he surprised her during swim practice with a playful yet heartfelt question: "Out of all the fishes in the sea, will you go to prom with me?" Without hesitation, Vanessa said yes—and from that moment, their story began. That magical prom night, they shared their first kiss to Latch by Disclosure, a moment filled with instant connection and undeniable sparks. Shortly after, Edgar asked Vanessa to be his girlfriend, and thus began a beautiful love story that has spanned the past ten years. Through the years, they navigated life’s adventures together. Vanessa went off to UCSB, while Edgar pursued his studies at Oxnard College and later CSUCI. Despite the distance, their love never wavered—Edgar made frequent trips to visit Vanessa, proving that love knows no miles. Together, they have created countless memories, traveled to amazing places, and grown side by side. Then, on a warm summer afternoon, after a decade of love and adventure, Edgar got down on one knee at Matador State Beach and asked the most important question of all.
