FAQs

Question

How Do I RSVP?

Answer

Click the RSVP tab above and RSVP at any time. Type in your name and fill out the form. If you need help, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Question

What if I don’t RSVP in time?

Answer

If you don’t RSVP by March 1st you will be marked as “not attending.” We have to provide an exact guest count to our vendors and cannot accept late RSVPs. (This will mean you are not allowed to show up to our special day. There will be no seating, food, or drink accommodations for you.)

Question

What should I do if I cannot make it?

Answer

You will definitely be missed! If you cannot attend our wedding, please indicate “Will NOT Attend” on your RSVP, so we can plan accordingly. If you have already RSVPd “Attending,” but find that you will not make it, please notify Vanessa as soon as you are aware.

Question

Can I bring a date or plus one?

Answer

If your guest name is listed on your invite and when you RSVP, then YES! Otherwise, we would like to keep the wedding as an intimate event with close family and friends. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are kids welcomed?

Answer

We love your little ones, but the kids that are a part of the bridal party will be the only kids invited.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We’d love to see our family and friends dress up with us! So, we are requesting that all of our guest dress in formal attire. We plan for the ceremony to be outdoors, so please take the weather into account when choosing your attire.

Question

What are the bridesmaids and groomsmen wearing?

Answer

My beautiful bridesmaids will be in light shades of blue and groomsmen will be in navy blue. We would prefer if guests would avoid these colors so our wedding party can stick out.

Question

Are there any colors or styles you’d prefer me to wear?

Answer

Cool tones, dark hues, and neutrals are strongly encouraged. Please avoid white, ivory, and bright/neon colors. Please also avoid short dresses. Thank you.

Question

What’s the order of events?

Answer

Please refer to the “schedule” tab above for times of each event.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Because the ceremony begins promptly at 2:30pm, we recommend arriving by 2pm, and no later than 2:15pm to ensure you are seated on time.

Question

How do we get there?

Answer

Due to a limited budget, we will not be providing transportation. Please plan accordingly.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is on site parking at the venue. Carpooling is recommended as there are 94 spots. NO STREET PARKING! Overnight parking is allowed, just make sure to move your vehicle before noon the following day!

Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

We have set up a hotel block with the Grand Stay in Cambridge. You must call the hotel and say that you are booking with “The Mercier Wedding Group.” Also for our guests who can provide proof of military ID, you can get an additional discount. Hotel information is provided in the “travel” tab above.

Question

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an unplugged ceremony, meaning that once the ceremony begins, we ask that all phones be put away and silenced. We want everyone to be fully present with us and for our amazing photographer to be able to capture the best moments, which we will absolutely share with you.

Question

What are my dinner options?

Answer

The choices will be listed when you RSVP. If you have a food allergy and cannot have any of the choices provided, please reach out to Vanessa immediately so we can notify our caterer.

Question

How can I contribute to your honeymoon fund?

Answer

The greatest gift of all is your presence on our special day! However, should you wish to contribute to our honeymoon, a wedding card can be dropped in the card box at the reception or a donation can be made on our online registry. This can be found in the “registry” tab above.

Question

What will the weather be?

Answer

April in Minnesota is very unpredictable! Let’s pray for perfect weather. However, please come prepared for temperatures ranging from 34 F to 56 F, and a possibility of rain or snow!

Question

Can I bring my own drinks?

Answer

No outside beverages are allowed and if venue security finds that guests are breaking this rule, can shut down the wedding immediately. So we strongly advise everyone to keep beverages at home!!

Question

Is there assigned seating?

Answer

For the ceremony the first two rows on each side will be reserved for immediate family only. This includes parents, siblings, and grandparents. There will be a seating chart for the reception. This will be for meal time only. After the meal is served you are more than welcome to move around!
