Vanessa and Yonah both attended Chico State but their paths never crossed during their undergraduate years. In July 2020, during the pandemic, they were introduced by mutual friends. Their connection started as they spent time together in San Francisco, enjoying the city's vibrant food scene, and creating lasting memories with friends. In 2022 they moved in together, settling into the charming Nob Hill neighborhood. By 2024 Vanessa and Yonah were ready for a new adventure and decided to leave San Francisco, beginning their next chapter in Sacramento. During a trip to Europe later that summer they were engaged on the hilltops of Barcelona, at a historical city monument named Montjuïc. In June 2025, Yonah and Vanessa bought a home in the Land Park neighborhood of Sacramento. After renovations they are officially moving in September 2025! Ever wonder where the nickname "Chicken" came from? Here’s the story... Vanessa and Yonah are big fans of ABBA and absolutely love the song Chiquitita. Yonah started calling Vanessa "Chiquitita," which soon evolved into "Chiquita," and eventually became "Chicken." And the name stuck!
