We met at a mutual friend’s birthday party our sophomore year of college. That was my first of many trips to Richmond, but I didn’t know that at the time. Years later, Junior reached out to me about a taco restaurant recommendation for my trip to Texas. After several days of messaging, he asked me on a date. We started at Taco Luchador for dinner. We sat outside, and there was so much road construction that we couldn’t hear each other the entire meal. I would just nod and laugh with no idea what he was saying. We then went to a festival on Market St where we had all the conversations we were hoping to have at dinner. We later met up with some friends to conclude our 8-hour long first date. I knew he was special from the start. Since then, we have had so many fun times together. From traveling to Canada to picking up our second pup, there is no one else I would rather have these memories with. Close to our two-year anniversary, Junior and I went to Asheville “for his Spartan race.” His real plan was revealed when I turned around to him on one knee. I was so surprised and so so happy! Everything about that moment was perfect. If this wasn’t impressive enough, he even had a surprise engagement party planned with our family and friends as soon as we arrived home. I love this exciting phase of our lives together, and I look forward everything God has planned for us. We can’t wait to celebrate this new chapter with you!
