I got one! Vanessa mistakenly swiped right and I had her on the line. Now, it was up to me not to mess it up. After connecting, messaging back and forth for a couple of weeks, she agreed to meet. We met at a restaurant in downtown LA, JOEY DTLA. Never mind the fact we call it Jimmy's. The date was April 7th, 2022. Mind you at this point I was on leave from work having just had reconstructive ACL surgery. I was using a cane to get around and a large knee brace. I didn’t really care and hoped she wouldn’t be turned off, but I knew I needed to meet this woman. I ditched the cane, and hobbled the streets of downtown to meet Vanessa. I, of course, arrived first. Vanessa was a little behind me, but arrived and looked absolutely stunning. It must have been the clothes she borrowed from her sister Nancy for the evening. Gracias Nancy. We were seated at a great table street side, shared our food(which I don’t do) talked and got to know each other for the next couple of hours. It was as natural as could be, we talked bad dates, likes & dislikes, family and friends. After waiting an additional hour for a cup of coffee(which we found we shared an immense liking for) the night was over. But not before Vanessa said we should do a ‘top ten’ dates of coffee and desserts. I thought she was bluffing, but of course I was all in. I offered to walk Vanessa to her car, multiple times, but she got frustrated and said she was good. As she walked away I honestly thought I would never see her again. Well we know that didn’t happen, we met for that second date, then 3,4,5 and we were inseparable…. Now for Vanessa's version of events.... Jk We agree more or less, this is how it all started, 2 coffees and a shared plate.
